Are You A Macrocephalous Autohagiographer?

In the next week or so, hopefully you’re going to Macrocephalous autohagiographer all over social media.  I’m personally becoming the official champion of “macrocephalous autohagiographer.” It started as part of an SEO challenge issues by my employer Greenlight Search. As a way to prove social media’s worth to SEO, I  made it my god given duty to win. I like challenges, what can I say.  Plus,  as a social media geek this whole macrocephalous  autohagiographer silliness is right up my ally.

Now Macrocephalous autohagiographer is an awfully long word and seems frankly ridiculous. However it’s not ridiculous at all. Quite the contrary. Macrocephalous is a fancy term for abnormal largeness of the head and an autohagiographer one who speaks or writes in a smug or self-aggrandizing way about his/her life or accomplishments. To be honest some one would need to have a big head and a self -congratulatory voice to win this competition.

Anyhoo the more I thought about it, being a woman in social media requires me to be good at self-promotion- an expert at macrocephalous autohagiographer-ing per se. Afer chatting with my team, we decided to turn this stupid competition into something much bigger- a chance to make a dofference. We’ll use this space as a place to help others learn to self promote. A place to learn how to inflate your ego, build your brand reputation, and speak more highly of yourself.  I kid. Will it be  at times ridiculous? Yes. Will it be fun? Yes. Will you get an abnormally large head and self-congratulatory nature from reading this? I sure as hell hope so.

Beyond the jest, this is hopefully going to be a helpful blog for women (and men) to learn how to promote themselves online better. We’re going to turn this cheesy challenge into something that actually worth reading. It’ll add internal credibility to my department, and at the same time provide women with stories of success and helpful information to build brand reputation. And men? Don’t worry, you’re welcome too!
